21 people arrested for shooting pornographic contents during Covid-19 Lockdown(Photos)

21 people including a German national were arrested in Kenya while they were allegedly shooting 'pornographic content' in Nakuru during the Coronavirus lockdown.

According to Kenya's Citizen TV, they were all arrested at a golf club within Milimani Estate in Nakuru on Wednesday evening.

They included 8 boys and 13 girls and were members of the same WhatsApp group disguised as a platform that supports talent growth, according to police officers.

Preliminary investigations revealed that they have been taking pictures and video shooting along the area for the past two weeks without following the measures put in place to halt the spread of Coronavirus.

Confirming the arrest, Nakuru East Deputy County Commissioner Elmi Shaffi said: “The youth were depicting nakedness, indecency and immoral behaviour that are against culture of Kenyans. They will be held at the quarantine for 14 days.”

“We will prosecute them if they are found culpable because this is against the Kenyan culture.”

Mr. Shaffi said the group were mobilizing themselves through the WhatsApp group to make pornographic pictures and videos to sell to foreigners.

During the arrest, he said they discovered modeling attires and cameras with half-naked and kissing images.

Police are also investigating claims that a German national who flew into the country a month ago is behind the raunchy group. They recovered a DSLR camera in her possession which had racy raw footage and raunchy photos.

“Investigations has been launched to know intention of the youth group, especially the female who jetted from Germany, if found guilty, she will be charged with taking pornography,” said the Deputy County Commission.

One of the WhatsApp administrators, Brian Kamau, said the group formed last month consists of 79 members, who came together to support talent growth.“The group has three administrators that send links to various social media platforms to recruit youth who have talents,” said Kamau.

The 21 people arrested are currently at the KMTC quarantine centre where they will be detained for 14 days.

Breaking News: 39.4 million Nigerians will be jobless by the end of the year - FG

The Federal Government has raised the fear that except something urgent is done, about 39.4 million Nigerians may be jobless by the end of the year as a result of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
