Nigeria records 681 new cases of #COVID19, equalling the total number of confirmed cases to 14,554 as death toll rises to 387 with 4,494 fully  recovered and discharged as at 11 June, 2020

Kwara police intercepts 200 suspected almajirai attempting to enter Lagos through its state

Police in  Kwara State on Saturday intercepted  about 200 youths suspected to be Almajirai  (street children)  from Katsina State attempting to travel through   the state  to Lagos. The  lorry with registration number Kaduna MKA 54 XL conveying the youths was  intercepted at  Kanbi/Oloru in the  Moro Local Government Area of the state. Spokesman for the police in the state, Ajayi Okasanmi,  confirmed the incident. According to Okasanmi, the youths claimed that they took off from Funtua in Katsina State and were heading to Lagos. Nigeria records 49 new cases of Coronavirus as toll rises to 542 with 166 persons discharged

Nigeria has recorded 49 new cases of the novel coronavirus, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). In a tweet on Saturday April 18, the NCDC reported  23 new cases in Lagos, 12 in  the Federal Capital Territory , 10 in Kano, 2 in Ogun, and 1 each in Oyo and  Ekiti  state. 33 APC members face expulsion

The Niger State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammad Jibril Imam, has disclosed that 33 members of the party may be facing expulsion and other disciplinary measures. Briefing reporters in Minna, the state capital, Imam said these members had taken the Party to court without exhausting all avenues for reconciliation and settlement. He said: “We have had running battles in the court of law regarding internal cases. Our members who lost primaries took the party to court. There are 33 internal cases from those who are dissatisfied with our primaries and have gone to court.” The chairman said the party had won all the cases as the cases have been struck out by the court, in favour of APC.” He said the party had decided to invoke the constitutional provision of the party which stated that once a member takes the Party to court without exhausting all avenues, the person ceases to be a member of the party.
